David Candow died in his native Canada recently, after a long, storied and celebrated career. He spent years as the CBC’s lead trainer, then became the lead trainer for all English speaking radio journalists everywhere. He was known as The Host Whisperer. His influence and reach is immeasurable. His humility and compassion made him accessible and beloved. And missed.
I’ve been in radio since the mid 90s. I stumbled in, but stayed because it was and still is, a perfect fit. I had a long apprenticeship but my instincts were right on.
